Giant
We went to Giant June 6th.
Ambience & Concept
Giant is an intimate, 44-seat small‑plates restaurant on Armitage, pairing cozy booth seating with a minimalist yet energetic mid‑century vibe We dined outdoors and I would say there was more space available outside so nice weather, this should be the go to move
The restaurant was good and the server was very knowledgeable about what was gluten free. There was not a huge amount that was GF but we were able to work our way around the menu. Food was good but according to others not as good as previously.
It’s tapas or sharing style which is always fun as you get to taste a lot more. It’s the kind of spot that feels low‑key casual at first glance but reveals itself as chef-driven and thoughtfully curated.
Service & Experience
From the moment you walk in, the staff sets expectations: their advice is clear—order plenty. Their menu is set up like a tasting menu or tapas-style exploration, rather than large individual entrees—plan for 7–8 small plates for a group of three to feel satisfied If you go in expecting a full entrée, you might be surpd by the lightness—but that’s the concept’s intent, emphasized by both staff .
I originally ordered 4 dishes for 2 people and it turned out that this was not enough Fortunately there was a gluten free mistake so they brought us a GF pasta dish with Lamb Ragu Do not miss the lamb ragu!! It was the best dish of the night
Tips Before You Go
Ask the server how many plates per person are recommended. I would say 3+
Order a mix of vegetables + proteins (broccoli, zucchini, flpasta, crab salad). Give the test kitchen a shot it was good
Be ready to spend $40–$60 per person, depending on your group size and drink choices.
I would give the restaurant 3.5 stars This is my pretty good but not dying to go back rating Previously others ranked it as 4.5+ so might give it another shot
